Walk To Defeat ALS

In an effort to help raise awareness of the devastating effects of ALS, the doctors and staff of North Shore Eye Care participate each fall in the Walk to Defeat ALS. In 2015, the event was held at Eisenhower Park in Nassau County and our staff rallied behind the cause making us the #1 team with the most participants. If you would like to join us this fall, please email for more information. 2016’s event will be held on Saturday, September 17.

Semi-Annual Symposium for Optometrists

Twice a year North Shore Eye Care hosts an educational symposium for regional eye doctors. The doctors of North Shore Eye Care lecture on a broad range of topics including diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions, as well as surgical technique and technology. The symposia are supported by local doctors and industry leaders. North Shore Eye Care is proud to donate a portion of the proceeds to the ALS Association. If you are an Optometrist you can sign up for our next symposium.

Ice Bucket Challenge

Last summer, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge started a nationwide conversation about the disease. Drs Martin, Zweibel and Mauro of North Shore Eye Care took the “challenge” in honor of Dr. Frank Verdone. This August the challenge will be back! Would you like to support ALS by participating in the Ice Bucket Challenge? Here’s how…

Share your Ice Bucket Challenge videos on our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter). The more awareness about the disease the closer it will bring us to better treatment and a cure.
