North Shore eye care was named the "Official eye care provider of the New York Islanders" this past season.  Our board certified eye surgeons were thrilled to be part of a professional sport franchise with the rich history of the New York Islanders.  We felt that our history of excellence in eye care especially cataract surgery and lasik laser vision correction for the patients for long island was a good fit.  Dr. Sidney Martin started North Shore eye care in 1962 and never thought at that time that his small eye care practice started with one employee, his wife, in the town of Smithtown that had no office buildings at the time, would grow into such a clear leader in eye care for all of suffolk and nassau counties including towns from west such as melville and dix hills to farther areas east such as Riverhead, Ridge, Manorville and the north and south forks.   Back then, Dr. Martin would often see patients from towns far away.  And now once again, Dr. Sid Martin, Dr. Larry Zweibel, Dr. Jeffrey Martin, and Dr. John Mauro often see patients that have heard of us from many different sources including Nassau Coliseum, where our eye care practice name and website stream across the stands as the Islanders play their way back into a contender.  Our staff and our eye doctors have enjoyed watching the Islanders improve and the feeling of success if coming back.  We were so thrilled when Mike Bossy, four time Stanley Cup Champion and NHL Hall of Famer came to our practice to film the video displayed on our website.  All and all, this is an exciting time to be at North Shore eye Care.  Our patients feel it and are thrilled with the results of our cataract surgery and laser eye surgery.  Our staff feels it and fills our office with smiles on a daily basis and of course our eye doctors feel it.  We are proud to be of service to our patients and proud to be the Official Eye Care Provider of the New York Islanders.
