DR. ZWEIBEL: LASIK is the reshaping of the cornea. It's the term we use when we want to reshape your cornea to give you the best possible vision you can get. The first thing we do is we create a flap. Once the flap is lifted we're able to reshape your eye with a laser beam and then we're able to put the flap back down.
The beauty of LASIK is that there's only a very small edge of the flap that has to heal. This heals overnight and by the next morning you're able to go about your normal activities. You're able to go to work, come to our office. Usually people have 20/20 vision or better and in good comfort.
