Ophthalmologist - Smithtown, New York

Dr. Lawrence Zweibel serves as Chief of Ophthalmology at St. Catherine of Sienna Hospital in Smithtown. Dr. Zweibel has been a partner of North Shore Eye Care for the past 25 years.

DR. ZWEIBEL: Hi, I'm Larry Zweibel. I'm a partner at North Shore Eye Care and I'm the director of ophthalmology at St. Catherine's Hospital in Smithtown. I'm a fellow with the American College of Surgeons and I'm a board certified ophthalmologist. I graduated from Albany Medical College in 1972. I've been in practice in Smithtown since 1976. At that time, we were only able to do relatively small amounts of correction for nearsightedness. Now with the expanded indications of LASIK we're able to treat much higher degrees of nearsightedness, we well as treating astigmatism and hyperopia, or farsightedness conditions.
