Islandia Eye CareLASIK, Cataract Surgery, and Glaucoma, Long Island New York

Islandia is a village within Suffolk County located in the northern part of the Town of Islip. Islandia straddles the Long Island Expressway and is near the geographic center of Long Island. It was established in 1985 after CA, Inc. established its world headquarters in the community creating a high tech boom town.

In 1963 a 500 home housing development was built by Levitt & Sons, and offered seven different model homes to choose from. The Levitt development was assigned the Central Islip ZIP code 11722 and was considered part of Central Islip until the incorporation of Islandia in 1985. Its most notable park is Lakeland County Park which is the headwaters of the Connetquot River. The park offers a picnic area, gazebo, basketball courts, shuffleboard and a nature trail-boardwalk over the headwaters of the Connetquot River.

NSEC serves the residences of Islandia with a variety of concerns. LASIK, or Laser-Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis, is an FDA-approved surgical procedure that corrects myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism by permanently changing the shape of the cornea (the eye's thin, clear covering).

LASIK is the most common laser vision correction procedure. It is intended to reduce your dependency on eyeglasses or contact lenses by improving vision and increasing the eye's focusing power. Want to learn more? Contact us to find out how LASIK can improve your vision - and your life.
