Hauppauge is a hamlet located on Suffolk Countys North Shore within the Town of Islip. Its name derives from the Native American Algonquian term for "overflowed land." The first house in Hauppauge dates to 1731, being located on what would be the Arbuckle Estate, and later the southeast corner of the Hauppauge Industrial Park, near the intersection of Motor Parkway and Old Willets Path.
The Hauppauge Industrial Park, located at the edge of the hamlet, is the largest on Long Island, and by some accounts the second largest in the nation. The park has over 1,300 companies, and employs over 55,000 Long Islanders. Hauppauge also houses many state and county offices along Route 454. There are also golf courses and parks, including the Hamlet Wind Watch Golf and Country Club, Stonebridge Golf and Country Club and Blydenburgh County Park.
NSEC serves the residences of Hauppauge with a variety of concerns. One of the most common is Cataracts. When cataracts are detected early, vision may often be improved with corrective lenses. If these measures do not help, removal of the cataract may be recommended. If left untreated, the cataract may continue to grow.
The doctors at North Shore Eye Care perform advanced cataract surgery without painful injections or stitches. Our cataract procedure typically takes about 10 to 20 minutes, and patients return to the comfort of their home the very same day! The doctors at North Shore Eye Care are experts at removing cataracts. Call us to schedule your personal eye care appointment.
