We also use multifocal implants like the Restor and the Tecnis multifocal lens. The Acrysof Toric implant reduces or eliminates astigmatism in most cases and our patients with these premium implants are able to see well without the need of glasses or contact lenses. 

How do I find a good eye surgeon?  It is important when finding a cataract surgeon to look at several things. The cataract surgeon should specialize in cataract surgery and perform many cataract surgery operations each year. The cataract surgeon should be current in his/her knowledge and be using the latest and best techniques. A patient should make sure that the cataract surgeon uses small incisions, usually without stitches. Most modern cataract surgeons no longer use needle injections around the eye routinely. Most modern cataract surgeons do not use an eye patch routinely following surgery. Cataract surgery should be completed without pain and quickly, routinely lasting about 10 minutes or so. There are always more complicated situations, but we are speaking of the routine standard cataract surgery. Lastly, I believe that a patient should feel very comfortable with their doctor/surgeon.
