North Shore Eye Care in Smithtown, Riverhead, Holbrook, and Deer Park, has launched a 50th anniversary campaign. We are giving away one LASIK procedure each week for the next 50 weeks. North Shore Eye Care was formed in 1962 by Dr. Sidney Martin in Smithtown with his wife out of a rental apartment. His goal was to give state of the art specialized eye care to the people of Long Island, something that was not readily available outside of New York City. Over the years, our eye care practice has grown to four locations and specialty eye care including Bladeless Custom LASIK, advanced cataract surgery, glaucoma care, dry eye treatment, uveitis treatment, eyelid surgery, and retinal care like diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration treatment.
Over the years, North Shore Eye Care has become a clear leader in eye care. In addition to Dr. Larry Zweibel and Dr. Jeffrey Martin, the last 3 years have been especially exciting with the addition of Dr. John Mauro, cataract, LASIK, and uveitis specialist, Dr. Sonya Dhar, glaucoma specialist as well as cataract surgeon, and Dr. Robyn Shapiro, doctor of audiology. We have also added a location in Riverhead with Dr. Paul Choinski, cataract and LASIK specialist as well as Dr. Grace O'Malley, cataract and general ophthalmologist. In the upcoming months, we are adding a Deer Park and Holbrook location with the addition of Dr. Stephen Greenberg, cataract surgeon and board certified eye care specialist. Amazing times for an eye care practice that started in a small apartment when many of the roads of Smithtown were not yet paved.
The past year, we built a new state-of-the-art LASIK center right in our Smithtown location. This has been amazing for our board certified LASIK experts. Our growth in laser vision correction made us want to control every aspect of the LASIK experience. We became the Official Eye Care Provider of the New York Islanders as well as the Official LASIK Provider of the New York Mets with endorsements from Mike Bossy and Darryl Strawberry. What a year!
