The year's review... North Shore Eye Care
Merry Christmas from North Shore Eye Care in Smithtown and Riverhead. What a year it has been. Enjoy family and friends and we will see you in the new year. North Shore Eye Care has accomplished a great deal this year. We doubled the size of our main office in Smithtown and added top of the line technology to assist us in the best diagnosis and treatment for all of our patients. We offer 15 lanes of service with Dr. Sidney Martin, Dr. Larry Zweibel, Dr. Jeffrey Martin, Dr. Sonya Dhar and Dr Robyn Shapiro, our audiologist. In Smithtown, there is the best in diagnostic equipment including flourescein angiography, IOL Master, OCT, fundus photography, pachymetry, corneal topography, specular microscopy, tear lab, automatic refraction and lensometry as well as two automated visual field machines. We use a great staff of technicians and coordinators to give you the best experience possible.
We added our new LASIK suite this year. Now, we have an amazing laser vision correction center right in Smithtown that has bladeless custom technology in iLASIK platform. The suite is designed to keep you calm and comfortable and the actual laser vision correction suite is temperature and humdity controlled with a Liebert system, the best in the business. Our patients that choose to have LASIK with us are able to be apart from the daily patient area to have their LASIK procedure in piece and quiet.
Our brand new Riverhead Long Island office opened this year in collaboration with Dr. Paul Choinski and Dr. Grace O'Malley. This Riverhead office is right near the Tanger outlets right off the Long Island Expressway. This office is much like our Smithtown location with a well designed brand new office and all of the best technology to make the patient encounter the best it can be. Our Riverhead New York eye doctors are part of the North Shore Eye Care family and many work in both our Smithtown and Riverhead locations. In Riverhead, we see patients with cataracts, laser eye surgery needs, eyelid problems, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and many other eye probelms.
Three of our current eye doctors, Dr. Larry Zweibel, Dr. Jeffrey Martin, and Dr. Grace O'Malley were selected as "Top Doctors: New York Metro Area" by Castle Connolly for another year. Castle Connolly is a medical research firm that independently researches and chooses doctors based on many factors. This list has been seen in the New York Times, New York Magazine, Newsday, and several other publications.
Dr. Sonya Dhar started working with us this year. She is a glaucoma specialist that did specialty training with Dr. Alan Crandall in Salt Lake City Utah. She is well versed in different types of glaucoma diagnosis and treatment and is available for your care. If you have glaucoma, it is now possible to be treated by a glaucoma specialist right here in Long Island at our Smithtown or Riverhead locations.
Another exciting development was that our eye care practice became the Official Eye Care Provider of the New York Islanders and the Official LASIK Provider of the New York Mets. Our ties to professional sports further cements our reputation as the best in LASIK and cataract surgery. We also began offering a LIFETIME COMMITMENT with LASIK so that our patients no longer have to worry about a possible touch-up or enhancement down the road and how they will pay for that.
What will this next year bring to our Long Island New York eye care practice. Time will tell, but be on the lookout for two additional locations early in the new year. We are spreading out to serve you better.
