North Shore Eye Care to perform first lasik cases in our brand new state of the art facility
This past week construction has been completed on our brand new state of the art facility at 260 Middle Country Road. The surgeons at North Shore Eye Care, Doctors John Mauro, Jeffrey Martin, Lawrence Zweibel, and now Dr. Sonya Dahr offering complete eye care to our patients from our offices in Smithtown and Riverhead are proud to offer the latest in I-Lasik surgery to our patients beginning this Monday. This facility will be the largest lasik center in Suffolk County offering features not found in most lasik suites. A new state of the art air controlled system tightly monitors both temperature as well as humidity within the laser suite. This is very important as the lasers used to perform I-Lasik are very sensitive to environmental conditions. This includes the Intra-Lase, a femptosecond laser used to create the lasik flap as well as the variable spot Custom-Vue laser which reshapes your cornea. Luckily both of these lasers perform best at temperatures between 68 and 70 degrees offering comfort to both patients and surgeons alike.
We are grateful to the support all our patients have given us over the years and in our appreciation we are offering a $100,000.00 giveaway to celebrate our new grand opening. All Lasik patients during the time of this offer will be able to participate. For details you will be able to with one of our lasik coordinators at the time of your consult.
Many people wonder if they will be good candidates. Some people that we see have been told they they can't have lasik, usually by non-lasik surgeons for various reasons. One of the more common reasons that people think they may not be a candidate is because they have astigmatism. The laser however, will treat a wide range of not only astigmatism but also myopia (near-sighted) and hyperopia (far-sighted). To aid in the accuracy of treating astigmatism we offer iris registration which utilizes a camera that notes iris landmarks surrounding your pupil to assure precise alignment.
To learn more about this exciting procedure and see our new lasik suite we encourage you to come to our monthly lasik seminar on Tuesday the 22nd of this month.
