LASIK in Long Island is as strong as ever as North Shore Eye Care in Smithtown New York is ready to open a brand new state of the art LASIK Center on November 1st.  North Shore Eye Care has been a leader in LASIK for years and is expanding to Riverhead New York as well.  This is a very exciting time in the history of our eye care practice that was started by Dr. Sidney Martin in 1960.  North Shore Eye Care performs only the best in LASIK, bladeless custom LASIK and this past year has seen us become the Official LASIK Provider of the New York Mets.  It was thrilling for us to have Darryl Strawberry endorse us on video that is on our website.  The new LASIK center was built from the ground up and includes advanced environmental control in a Liebert system that tightly controls humidity and temperature.  This helps to keep our results as fine tuned as possible.  Our lasers are sensitive to temperature and humidity so in a climate like Long Island, it is important to handle this carefully.

History of North Shore Eye Care LASIK

North Shore Eye Care was founded in 1960 and new has seven doctors that give the best in quality eye care.  Dr. Sid Martin, Dr. Larry Zweibel, Dr. Jeff Martin, Dr. Paul Choinski, and Dr. Grace O'Malley are all board certified and are the current eye doctors in Smithtown and Riverhead.  Our offices are equipped with great technology that allows us to be at the cutting edge of diagnosis and treatment of eye disease including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye, glaucoma, eye lid problems, and laser vision correction.  In November, we are eager to welcome Dr. Sonya Dhar, a glaucoma specialist, who has great experience in glaucoma through a year long fellowship with Dr. Alan Crandall in Utah.  From the beginning of LASIK 15 years ago, our LASIK experts have been there and made sure that we were offering the best in care.  All of our LASIK is blade-free and custom.  We use Intralase and VISX Star S4 IR.   This gives us the best chance at success every time.
