When is comes to LASIK in Long Island, North Shore Eye Care is the leader in laser vision correction eye surgery.  Our board certified LASIK experts have been performing only the best and safest in LASIK for over 15 years.  Our laser eye surgery specialists in our Smithtown and soon to be opened Riverhead location use iLASIK which is bladeless custom LASIK.  Our eye doctors feel that there is only one way to treat your one pair of eyes, the best way.  That is why every flap in our LASIK procedure is formed using Intralase, the market leader in laser flap creation.  With this method of making a flap, all of the complications that occured with the older blade machine have been removed.  Only 50% of LASIK surgeons currently use Intralase, for us... it is a must.  We then use our wavescan to create a custom map of your visual system much like your fingerprint.  In this way, our eye surgeons know that they are treating your unique eye shape and prescription, no two waveprints are alike.  This information is digitally transferred into the VISX Star S4 laser so that human error is not possible and the laser automatically tracks and centers as your eyes are corrected.  There is also iris registration that is imperative to treat any astigmatism on the correct axis.  Iris registration really changed and improved the precision of eye vision surgery.. another must.
