North Shore Eye Care, the cataract experts of Long Island with their main office in Smithtown New York, are getting ready to launch a second office in Riverhead New York to serve the patients of the east end of Long Island.  Our board certified cataract surgeons have become known for their pain free eye drop anesthesia cataract surgery.  In our cataract procedure, our patients are able to stay in their own clothes and receive IV sedation for comfort.  Through the cataract operation, the patient only sees a bright light and feels little to no discomfort.  The procedure usually takes just a few minutes and patients are free to leave immediately after surgery.  There are no stitches used during cataract surgery because the incisions are small and seal without them.  There is no need for an eye patch because the light eye drop anesthesia leaves our patients with full use of their eye immediately after eye surgery. Our cataract surgeons, Dr. Jeff Martin, Dr. Larry Zweibel, Dr. John Mauro, Dr. Paul Choinski, Dr. Grace O'Malley and Dr. Sonya Dhar, are well versed in premium implant technology that allows our patients to see well far and near often without the use of glasses at any distance.
