With over 10 million lasik procedures performed in the United States there is no longer any question about  the quality of vision, safety, and satisfaction with this procedure. The "Best paper of the session" presented at the last American Society of Cataract and Refractive symposium helped to drive home this fact.  The paper discussed a study of navy airmen which included 631 eyes.  In this study the navy airmen had lasik performed using the same state of the art technology employed by our experienced surgeons at North Shore Eye Care.  This included the use of a femptosecond laser to create a bladeless flap and the use of the STAR S4 laser to perform wavefront-guided laser treatment to reshape the cornea.  The correction was so accurate and the recovery was so fast that all the airmen that underwent treatment for nearsightedness were able to return to active duty within 2 weeks.  Futhermore when uncorrected vision was tested at 3 months 98.4% of all eyes could see 20/20 or better.

At North Shore Eye Care we have been thrilled to be able to offer this exciting, safe procedure to our patients.  For all those interested we offer free consults as well as monthly seminars.
