North Shore Eye Care is a multispecialty eye care practice in suffolk county of new york.  Our main location is in smithtown in a spectacular new 6000 sq foot office.  We have the best in technology and our board certified eye surgeons are ready to assist patients from Melville to Riverhead.  We take care of patients with glaucoma, cataract, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, lid problems, dry eye, and those that desire lasik laser eye surgery.  We also have a full time doctor of audiology on staff.

When you arrive at North Shore eye care, you will be greeted warmly and professionally.  Our ophthalmic technicians begin your workup and then you will meet one of our board certified eye doctors.  We have eye doctors that specialize in cataract surgery and lasik laser vision correction.  We treat glaucoma and dry eye using the latest in technology including tear lab for dry eye and the best in glaucoma diagnosis and treatment.  We have an oculoplastic eye surgeon see patients at our office twice a month and we have a retinal specialist come and see patients twice a month as well.  Our audiologist, Dr. Robyn Shapiro is available by appointment, but also for walk in questions and screenings.  Having a hearing specialist in the office has been spectacular because it allows our patients that have difficulty seeing and hearing to get both handled in one place.  Dr. Mauro, our newest associate is fellowship trained in uveitis, an inflammatory condition of the internal layers of the eyes.  For our dry eye patients, we have Tear Lab, a computerized test that tells us just how dry your eye is.  It is a wonderful addition to our high tech office and it allows our patients to see exactly how much the dry eye treatment is truly helping. It has also helped for us to titrate treatment with artificial tears, restasis and punctal plugs as well as environmental changes like using hypoallergenic products at home.
