North Shore eye care to give Optometric Symposium this Sunday

May 10, 2011 @ 09:56 AM — by unknown

North Shore eye care is giving a full day Optometric Symposium this Sunday May 15 in Huntington New York.  Our Smithtown eye care practice is having its third symposium that should be strongly educational and interesting for all eye doctors in attendence.  The last symposium had over 100 eye doctors in attendence.  The day is being held at the Huntington Hilton and will be kicked off the Dr. Sidney Martin, the founder of the North Shore eye care.  Dr. Martin founded our eye care practice in 1960 and still practices at the age of 82.  Next, Jeffrey Martin, MD will be giving a lecture on anterior segment eye problems including lasik problems and cataract problems.  Dr. John Mauro will be discussing uveitis and intraocular inflammation and will also touch on glaucoma issues.  Dr. Jeff Augustin will give a lecture on anterior segment eye disease as it relates to lasik and laser eye surgery.  Dr. Mark Rivellese will discuss whats current in retina and vitreous.  Dr. Rivellese is an excellent retinal specialist that went to medical school with Dr. Jeff Martin.  Dr. Jay Wisnicki will give a lecture on double vision and eye muscle imbalance in the setting of lasik and cataract surgery.  Finally, Jim Rienzo will give a practice management update for the optometric practice.  The course will be supported by many eye care companies and the dialogue between the faculty and attendees should prove for a most enjoyable and educational forum.  We look forward to these programs because it allows learning and stimulation of ideas by the community eye doctors and their colleagues.
