We perform cataract surgery through a microscopic incision without the need for stitches, an eye patch or needles around the eyes.  We use eye drops to numb the surface of the eye and IV sedation so that our patients are comfortable.  Our patients are able to stay in their own clothes and are able to return to the comfort of their home the very same day.  In addition, our patients are able to choose from several premium lens implants designed to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses for the rest of their lives.  There are accommodating and multifocal lenses such as Tecnis Multifocal, Restor, and Crystalens.  Our eye doctors are careful in making sure that you understand your options and choose the lens implant that is best for you and your lifestyle.  For patients with astigmatism, there is a toric lens implants that corrects astigmatism and reduces the need for distance correction in those patients.
