In Suffolk County of long island, North Shore eye care is the leader in cataract surgery technique and technology.  Our board certified eye doctors see patients from Melville to Smithtown and all the way to Riverhead, Ridge and Shoreham.  We treat all of our patients with the personalized care they need.  Our office has been expanded to better serve our patients.  We now have 13 functioning examing rooms and enhanced technology including Pentacam corneal topography, flourescein angiography, Optical Coherence Tomography, fundus photography, visual field testing, corneal endothelial cell counting, automatic refraction among other automated technology.  All of this technology simply helps us to get it right.  Our cataract patients are measured with IOL Master, a non-contact eye measuring device. 

In cataract surgery, we use small incision techniques without stitches, needles around the eyes, or even an eye patch.  We use the latest in computer controlled cataract removal technique called phacoemulsification.  Our cataract specialists use the best intraocular lens implants including aspheric monofocal implants and premium implants such as Toric implants to reduce or eliminate astigmatism.  We also use accommodating implants like Crystalens that is designed to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses following cataract surgery.  We have experience with multifocal implants as well such as Tecnis Multifocal and Restor multifocal.

Beyond the technology, our goal at North Shore Eye Care is to give the best experience and the very best result possible.  For those patients that elect to have premium lens implants, we offer free custom bladeless lasik to enhance the result if necessary.  Occasionally, we have to make an adjustment to have these implant lenses function the best.  It is great that our eye care facility is state of the art in both cataract surgery and laser vision correction.
