North Shore Eye Care scheduling Lasik seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 22

This Tuesday at 7 P.M. North Shore Eye Care will be scheduling a Lasik seminar in our newly renovated office.  Many patients are not sure if this is the right procedure for them as they are not sure just how this can work and just how safe a procedure this really is.  For such people this seminar will be very informative.  At this discussion it will be explained that we perform I-Lasik.  This trade name basically stands for all the new innovations that have been added to this procedure over the past decade that have accounted for its unprecedented success.

 We perform bladeless lasik which means this is now an all laser procedure .  For speed of recovery a uniformly thin flap on the surface of the cornea  is created with an extremely fast laser known as a femptosecond laser.  A second laser known as the custom-view laser reshapes the cornea which is the main lens of the eye.  Once this is accomplished a perfect focus can be achieved enabling you to see 20/20 or better.  The beauty of lasik performed this way is that vision is almost fully restored by the very next morning with the eye almost completely healed as this is the amount of time required for the edge of the flap to seal.  Even though this is an extremely reliable procedure some people do experience some halos and dryness initially, and these symptoms usually dissipate within days to weeks.
