North Shore Eye Care Symposium for Optometrists yesterday a tremendous success

January 10, 2011 @ 03:53 PM — by John Mauro

North Shore Eye Care Symposium for Continuing Education for Optometrists held yesterday at the Huntington Hilton in New York, presented an opportunity for optometrists locally to get 6 COPE credits and interact with colleagues.  Dr. Sidney Martin, the founding eye surgeon of North Shore eye Care in Smithtown New York in long island was the guest speaker and began the day.  Dr Jeff Martin discussed the latest and greatest in cataract surgery and laser vision correction while  Dr. John Mauro later spoke on several interesting topics of the anterior segment including uveitis and complicated cataract surgery.  Dr. Brett Rosenblatt spoke about the current treatments in retinal disease.  The day was concluded with Dr. Nichols speaking about current trends in oculoplastic surgery and well renowned speaker James Rienzo spoke about current topics of practice management including electronic medical records.

The symposium marked the first of two this year that North Shore Eye Care intends to have.  Educational experiences like this help strengthen the already strong relationship between ophthalmology and optometry. In long island new york in suffolk and nassau counties, we see patients from smithtown, nesconset, saint james, kings park, huntington, commack, northport, cold spring harbor, dix hills, melville, deer park, centerport, massapequa, lindenhurst, sayville, bay shore, babylon, wantagh, farmingdale, farmingville, woodbury, syosset, great neck, plainview, bethpage, glen cove, rockville center, garden city, mineola, east meadow, hicksville, levittown, roslyn, manhasset, new york city, brooklyn, bronx, queens, and many other towns.
