Due to popular demand North Shore Eye Care to host cataract surgery seminar this Monday
The fascinating subject of cataract surgery which has become more complex, yet safer with quicker rehabilitation times will be discussed Monday morning at 8 A.M. In the past there was little to discuss. The cataract which is a clouding of the natural lens of the eye was removed, the eye was sutured closed, a patch was placed over the eye, and after three days you would be discharged from the hospital. After 11/2 months you would get fit with a pair of glasses that looked like coke bottles and you would be able to see again, and due to the magnification associated with these cataract glasses your spouse would look 20% larger.
Luckily things have changed. We now offer same day outpatient surgery. No needles or stitches are necessary and most patients get to go home without even an eye patch. Moreover, there is a large assortment of intraocular lenses to choose from. These lenses offer natural vision and often reduce or eliminate the need for glasses. So to learn more come to our seminar. Admission is free and refreshments will be served due to the early hour.
