In cataract surgery, we use clear corneal microscopic incisions that do not require stitches.  Because of that, we use eye drop anesthesia instead of needle blocks and we do not use eye patches following surgery so that you can start the important postoperative eye drops right away and use your eye as well.  Our eye doctors use computer controlled ultrasound called phacoemulsification to remove the cloudy lens or cataract and then place a foldable intraocular lens to restore your vision.  There are several choices in implants.  The standard lens allows a patient to see well in the distance.   There are multifocal and accommodating lenses that allow for far and near vision without the use of glasses or contact lenses.  These implants use special technology to increase range of vision without glasses.  We also use the Acrysof Toric implant that reduces or eliminates astigmatism.  Some of these implants add additional cost to our patients.  Because of that, we know have zero percent financing for two years to help those patients that desire to spread the payments out.
