Jen Thatcher, having worked at North Shore eye care in smithtown new york on long island for 8 years, now leads our lasik team as the lasik coordinator.  She helps our three board certified  lasik surgeons organize and manage our lasik facility.  From the initial complimentary consultation to the post op visits, Jen is here to answer all your questions along with our lasik expert eye doctors.  North Shore eye care has been a leader in laser eye surgery for over 10 years and our three lasik surgeons, Dr. Jeff Martin, Dr. Larry Zweibel and Dr. John Mauro are experienced with thousands of laser vision correction procedures completely successfully.  We use the very best technology including bladeless custom lasik in every case.  We use Intralase to make flaps which is the safest and most precise way to make a flap.  We then use Customvue by Visx to perform the laser vision correction part of the procedure.  The laser gets a custom fingerprint of your vision much like the unique fingerprint of your hand.  This information is used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism and also automatically tracks and centers.  Iris registration is used in every case which is a unique way that the laser uses your own iris landmarks to precisely line up the correction.
