October 11, 2010 @ 09:51 AM — by John Mauro

The cataract seminar earlier today was given by one of our board certified cataract surgeons, Dr Zweibel, discussing the details of cataracts as well as cataract surgery. Our eye physicians and surgeons, Dr. Jeff Martin, Dr. Larry Zweibel, Dr Sidney Martin and Dr. John Mauro, will be conducting  monthly seminars to afford  patients better education in their decision to have cataract surgery.  Cataract surgery is an outpatient procedure that is conducted under IV and the use of topical numbing eye drops and therefore do not use needles around the eyes, stitches, or even an eye patch following surgery.  Patients then have the opportunity to choose a standard IOL or upgrade to a premium implant that reduces or eliminates the need for glasses at all distances.  These implants are called Crystalens, Restor, and Tecnis Multifocal.

In long island new york in suffolk and nassau counties, we see patients from centereach, selden, coram, middlle island, ridge, riverhead, stony brook, setauket, port jefferson, rocky point, mt sinai, miller place, patchogue, bayport, yaphank, shirley, mastic, moriches, eastport, westhampton, calverton, manorville, quogue, hampton bays, quogue, east hampton, sag harbor, amagansett,, montauk, jamesport, cutchogue, southold, mattituck, greenport, and many other towns.
