New developments in cataract surgery to be discussed on Monday morning seminar
At 8 a.m. Monday morning we will be hosting our monthly morning cataract seminar. New developments in cataract surgery and how this surgery can free you from glasses will be discussed. Using a phacoemulsifier, ultrasound energy with a tip oscillating at 32,000 times a second is used that reduces the cataractous lens to rubble in mere seconds. With modern technology this operation can not only be performed more quickly, but more importantly, with much greater safety.
Lens implant options will also be discussed. Prospective candidates who are dependent on glasses will find out how with new lens implant designs they can become spectacle independent. One such lens that will be discussed is the crystalens from Bausch and Lomb. This is a flexible lens that allows good distance vision in its resting position. When you focus on things near you, such as a book, the muscles in your eye cause the lens to vault forward, enabling printed matter to come into view. Of note, we at North Shore Eye Care have been named the Bauch and Lomb Crystalens Center of Excellence. Furthermore, all surgeons are Board Certified Ophthalmologists.
So come to our lively seminar, meet our staff, and see our modern office. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
