Optometric Symposium set for January 9
North Shore eye care has set the date for the second Continuing Education Symposium for Optometrists. OUr board certified eye surgeons are excited about the slate of speakers and the opportunity to interact with our colleagues. On January 9th from 8am to 2 pm, we have a schedule of speakers in the different subspecialites of eye care speaking about current exciting topics. Dr. Jeffrey Martin of North Shore eye care will be speaking on advances in cataract surgery and laser vision correction. Dr. John Mauro, a fellowship trained uveitis specialist is excited about speaking on his topic of choice. We have Dr. Neil Nichols, an eye plastic surgeon, speaking about the lids and different methods of correcting eyelid problems. Dr. Brett Rosenblatt, a board certified retinal specialist, is happy to return and give an excellent lecture on current concepts an emerging technology in retina and vitreoretinal disease. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Karen Mastrota, an optometrist who is known for lecturing nationally. She will give an excellent point of view and we are excited to have her. James Rienzo of BMC Consulting will round off the lecturers with a talk on practice management targeted toward optometry and the relationship between optometry and ophthalmology.
We hope to have an excellent day and expect to have an enlightening interactive educational day. The day will be supported by many companies in the eye care arena and there will be many displays and booths with information on the latest in eye care. We also plan to have great raffles including a number of ipads and high technology gadgets.
