North shore eye care reduces eye drops in cataract surgery
North Shore eye care , the leader in cataract surgery in suffolk county of long island new york, has taken the lead again reducing the number of eye drops necessary after cataract surgery. Traditionally, eye drops were needed four times a day following cataract surgery, our eye care practice in smithtown new york has cut that number in half. We are currently using a fourth generation fluoroquinolone called Zymaxid along with Durezol and either Xibrom or Acuvail, all twice a day. One of the drops is an antibiotic, one is a steroid and one is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. These drops are important following cataract surgery to avoid infection and inflammation, both of which can cause poor outcomes.
Our three board certified cataract surgeons use the best techniques and technology available. The addition of this wonderful drop schedule is just part of the natural progression of continual improvement. We are excited about the decrease in difficulty for our patients and the increased compliance.
In long island new york in suffolk and nassau counties, we see patients from smithtown, nesconset, saint james, kings park, islip, islandia, hauppauge, lake grove, bohemia, ronkonkoma, holbrook, holtsville, sayville, farmingdale, farmingville, and many other towns.
