Modern cataract surgery leaves patients with many choices
Cataract surgery which is the most common eye operation has the ability to give better visual function than before the cataract even occurred. This means that people who were formally dependant on spectacles can often reduce or eliminate their need for them. This complex but quick operation leaves patients with many choices. One of the most important of these choices is picking the right surgeon who is both knowledgable and familiar with the latest technology.
At North Shore Eye Care our surgeons have over 30 years experience with cataract surgery. Using only the latest equipment we are also familiar with the vast array of lens implant options that can afford patients spectacle indepence. This includes such lenses as multifocal lenses, accommadative lenses, as well as toric lenses that correct astigmatism. All surgery can be performed on an outpatient basis usually requiring only 2 hours of stay at the state of the art facility. The surgery is painless requiring only mild sedation offered by a Board Certified Anesthesiologist. All of our eye surgeons including Drs. Lawrence Zweibel, Dr. Jeff Martin, and Dr. John Mauro are likewise board certified.
We have performed surgery on all patients in the New York Metropolitan area as well as most areas of Nassau and Suffolk County including the Hamptons, Mattituck, Jamesport, Riverhead, the Moriches, Southold, Greenport, Manorville, Ridge, Coram, Centerport, Northport, Stony Brook, Port Jefferson, Lake Ronkonkoma, Smithtown, Kings Park, Northport, Huntington, Dix Hills, Plainview, Melville, Syosset, Hicksville, Westbury, Port Washington, Mineola, Valley Stream and many other areas.
