Why more and more people are choosing lasik

Two new advances in lasik surgery have made this procedure more attractive to prospective patients.  The first being bladeless surgery.  Thanks to intralase technology lasik flaps can now be created by laser.  Secondly, due to customvue laser patients are truly amazed at the quality of their postoperative vision.  While several lasers exist in the marketplace the "Intralase" by Abbott Medical Optics is currently the market leader.  There are many clinical advantages to using this laser over blades to create the corneal flap used in lasik surgery.  Amongst these are safety and the ability to create reliably thin flaps, thus preserving more corneal tissue.  These flaps are also more uniform from center to periphery which results in better post operative vision.

Customvue analysis utilizes space age technology that analyzes light energy reflected from the eye in the form of a wave-front.  This information is passed on to an aberrometer and then a computer yielding 25 times more information than an ordinary glass prescription.  The net result is exceedingly clear vision.
