North Shore Eye Care has been a leader in cataract surgery for years in the Long island and greater new york areas.  Our board certified cataract surgeons and cataract doctors strive for excellence and continue to perfect their eye care and eye surgery.  Currently, our cataract patients stay in their own clothes and cataract surgery takes a few minutes.  Through a 2 millimeter incision, our board certified eye surgeons remove the cloudy lens or cataract using gentle ultrasound called phacoemulsification.  The cataract is broken into pieces and removed in a safe and efficient way without using stitches, needles around the eyes or even an eye patch.  Patients return to their regular activities almost immediately.  Dr. Jeffrey Martin, Dr. Larry Zweibel and Dr. John Mauro are trained to handle the standard cataract as well as more complicated cataract clinical settings. The brain has to get used to the fact that one eye is designed for near and the other for far, perceiving two simultaneous images and tries to blend them together. It could take upto 3-4 months for this process to occur, ty
